Final PEのReflection

My PE goal and activities for this semester

Short-term Goals:

1. To improve my intonation and overall naturalness of my speech.
2. To be more fluent and comfortable having daily casual conversations in Japanese.
3. To be able to understand simple conversations in Japanese anime or TV shows.

Reflection:

1. I think my naturalness of my casual conversation has improved quite a bit compared with before. However, despite some improvement, I still think that my intonation and word pitch are not very good. It happens quite often that my word pitch is off in my PE exercises. Thus, as for this aspect, I definitely need to practice more.
2. As I have mentioned in my mid-term reflection, I have tried to have short conversations with my classmates (i.e, ソンさん) and also a Japanese friend. As a result, I think I am more comfortable with having casual conversation in Japanese now. However, I am still not as fluent as I want to be so I also need more practice on this.
3. I have been paying attention to the use of some phrases and grammars taught in class when watching Japanese anime or listening to Japanese songs. Sometimes, I am able to understand what the characters are saying in the anime. But there is still a long long long way to go.

Activities:

1. Go to Japanese table once per two weeks.
2. Watch one episode of Japanese anime or videos of Japanese TV show everyday.
3. Listen to Japanese songs everyday.
4. Try to have a casual conversation in Japanese with friend once every week.
5. Go to office hour once per two weeks.

Reflection:

1. During the last several weeks of the semester, I managed to attend Japanese table almost every week! So I have definitely accomplished this goal.
2. I think I have accomplished  this. During this semester, I have finished watching 機動戦士ガンダムΖΖ and I have been watching 機動武闘伝Gガンダム now. 時々ゆか木下さんのおお食いのビデオを見ています。
3. I have definitely accomplished this. 毎日一時間ぐらい日本の歌を聞いています。
4. 毎日友達と日本語で少し話します。I definitely want to do this more often and also try to have longer conversations.
5. Unfortunately I think I have failed to go to the office hour at this frequency. 本当に残念でしたね。

Overall, I think I am happy with the improvement and the progress I have made so far in this semester.
でも、日本語が上手になるように、僕はたくさん練習しなければいけないと思っていて、来学期も頑張りますね！

日本に行ったら。。。

今夏はコロラドに物理学のサマースクールがあって、僕は行くつもりです。だから、時間がないので、石川のPIIに行きたいけど、行けなくて、本当に残念です。けれども、来年の夏に沖縄に物理学の会議があるので、とてもいいと思って、僕は行く予定です。

日本に行ったら、たくさん事をしたいです。日本で一番したい事はもちろん和食をたくさん食べるのでしょう。僕は食べるのが大好きなので、和食も大好きだから、いつも日本に食事をしに行こうと思います。和食の中で、刺身や天ぷらやラーメンや焼肉食べたいです。そして、色々な和菓子も食べたいです。日本でたくさん食事をしたいから、多分お金がたくさんかかると思って、今からお金を貯めておきます。

それから、僕は日本のアニメとゲームも大好きなので、ゲームもアニメの模型も買いたいです。漫画の本も買おうと思います。だから、日本の本屋に行くつもりです。秋葉原にアニメのものが多いそうだから、行く予定です。

日本に行ったら、たくさん和食を食べたくて、色々なアニメの模型とゲームを買いたくて、多分お金が多くかかるでしょう。だから、今からお金を貯めようと思っています。
